I started my journey chasing what I thought was my dream career in the music industry. From playing trumpet as a kid to landing a job at a major New York label, I was certain I had made it. But the excitement faded as I realized I wasn’t growing. I was chasing titles and approval, not purpose.
So I pivoted into advertising, thinking creative work would finally bring fulfillment. It didn’t. After years of job-hopping and burnout, I finally slowed down long enough to face the truth. I wasn’t misinformed. I was misaligned. I had been following a version of success that looked good on paper but felt empty inside.
That moment changed everything.
I realized how easy it is for capable young adults to lose direction, not because they are lazy, but because they are unsure how to find a path that feels like their own. And I saw how parents, even with the best intentions, can get stuck in difficult conversations that go in circles.
