I started my journey pursuing my passion for music—playing trumpet throughout my childhood and eventually landing what I thought was my dream job at a major New York label after college. The bright lights of the music industry were intoxicating at first, but the excitement faded as I realized I wasn’t growing in a rapidly changing industry that no longer felt like the dream I’d imagined.

I pivoted into advertising, thinking creative work might finally bring the fulfillment I’d been chasing. At first, it felt like the right move. But over time, I found myself job-hopping across agencies, constantly trying to outrun that nagging sense that something still wasn’t clicking.

Eventually, I returned to my hometown of Raleigh—and that's when the layoffs started. One after another, I found myself questioning everything. It forced me to slow down and finally face the truth: I wasn’t just burned out—I was misaligned. I’d been chasing job titles, external approval, and a version of success that never really felt like mine.

That was the turning point.

I decided I didn’t want to keep pushing down my intuition or following paths that looked good on paper but felt empty. More than anything, I didn’t want others to fall into the same trap.
